  • My Music Teaching Biography:

Kathy Kilgo, a native of Little Rock, Arkansas, is a well-trained vocal artist who has been teaching and performing operatic music for over 10 years. Kathy has taught as an adjunct professor of voice at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Kathy received her Master of Music degree in vocal performance from the University of Southern California where she was granted a teaching assistantship. She has been the recipient of many vocal awards and competitions including regional finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Guild National Council auditions. She has had the opportunity to perform several operatic roles at both the collegiate and professional levels; including, Fiordiligi, in Cosi Fan Tutte, Mimi, in La Boheme, Lauretta, in Gianni Schicchi, Mere Marie, in Dialougues des Carmelites, and Mrs. Grose in the Turn of the Screw. She has performed in several operas at the Wildwood Opera Company including Mercedes in Carmen, and Patience in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Patience. Kathy has performed in numerous recitals, competitions and concerts throughout the United States. She is a member of the National Music Honor Society, Pi Kappa Lambda, the Music Teachers National Association, and the Collegiate Music Educators National Conference. She has worked with many brilliant conductors including the late Timothy Lindberg, Nicola Bowie, Michael Hampe, Sherrill Milnes, and David Itkin. Kathy has also had the opportunity of studying under many wonderful vocal coaches and instructors including Clark Dugger, Elizabeth Hynes, Christine Donahue, Alan Smith, and Elvia Pucinelli.
